Matilda has been working hard twice a week at physical therapy. Each week the therapists are so happy with the continued strength Matilda is gaining. She has been doing exercises including practicing walking one step at a time and riding a bike!

While riding the bike Matilda tries to beat her time when going around the loop. She continues to get faster!

Matilda Goes On a Field Trip

This week in Louisville there is one topic of choice, horses. This upcoming Saturday the Kentucky Derby, the first round of the triple crown of horse racing, will be held in Louisville.

Yesterday Matilda’s class went on a field trip to an equestrian training center to learn first hand about horses. Matilda learned about the feeding, training and cleaning of horses, and she was even able to help out!

There were over 80 horses in the stables along with several barn cats wondering around.  Matilda loved seeing the different sizes and colors of the horses.

Student of the Week!

Last week Matilda was honored when receiving the Student of the Week Award from Evangel Christian School! She received a red ribbon that is now hanging on the Cook’s refrigerator along with some drawings by Matilda.

Matilda has continued to work hard at school, being sure to do her homework when she arrives home in the afternoon. She is hard at work and she continues to learn more and more from school!

An appointment has been scheduled for Monday the 30th with Matilda’s orthopedic surgeon. Be in prayer that we are able to set a date for her upcoming surgery and that the doctor will know what will best help Matilda. We’ll keep you posted on the upcoming surgery date!
